Activating Evolution

Activating Evolution is a psychedelic trance/full-on music project based in Paris, France. It is the actual Jean-Philippe Brusque's project, a.k.a DJ Reepai. J-P Brusque’s musical inspiration is situated between hard rock and reggae.
In his youth, he was a guitarist within a group. He discovered trance at the end of the 90’s and immediately began to compose on softwares such as Rebirth and Reason. In 2000, DJ Reepai began to mix psytrance on vinyl and quickly focused on hard trance, hard house and Nu NRG. Afterward, he began to mix in parisian trance parties and became a Cyberdelik resident DJ. It’s around 2004 that his style of psytrance clearly became full-on. In 2006, he created his first project named Activ-8 and his first track, Sound Immersion, made in association with Shade alias DJ Veek (currently Mesmerizer) and released in the Radio Activity II compilation by Point Zero Records. The same year, he became a resident DJ at ETC (Epidemic Trance Corp.). DJ Reepai had the opportunity to mix with the biggest names of the full-on and psytrance scene: Azax Syndrom, Mekkanikka, Penta, Sirius Isness, Strange Contact, Shanti, Timelock, Neuromotor, Hyper Frequencies...
In 2012 he starts his new project Activating Evolution. He releases his two first EP in 2014 on Moon Spirits Records and Geomagnetic Records.

Activating Evolution (DJ Reepai), est un projet psytrance / full-on, basé sur Paris. Ce projet musical est inspiré de la full-on des années 2000 avec des influences de Hard Trance, Nu NRG.
Guitariste dans sa jeunesse, il mélange parfois sa musique avec quelques touches de rock. Il a découvert la psytrance à la fin des années 90, suivi du DJ mix et de la création musicale assistée par ordinateur. En 2000, il a commencé à mixer ces différents styles de trance dans les soirées Parisiennes. Par la suite, il devient coorganisateur et DJ résident chez Cyberdelik. C’est en 2004 que son style de trance est devenu définitivement full-on. En 2006, il crée son premier projet nommé Activ-8 et sa première track, Sound Immersion, réalisée en collaboration avec Shade alias DJ Veek (aujourd'hui
Mesmerizer), est sortie sur la compilation Radio Activity II, chez Point Zéro Records. La même année, il devient DJ résident chez ETC (Epidemic Trance Corp.). En 2012, il crée son nouveau projet Activating Evolution. Il sort ses deux premiers EP en 2014 chez Moon Spirits Records et Geomagnetic Records.
